Hello! My name is Nipun, and this is my portfolio. I am a freelance motion graphics artist from New Delhi, India. I work with various tools, using primarily Adobe After Effects for animation, and Autodesk Maya for various 3D elements. My design philosophy is to 'keep it simple.' METAballs: An experiment using cloners and metaball objects in Cinema 4d, with compositing done in Adobe After effects. Such a title animation can be used in variety of ways, with maximum application in broadcast graphics.

An experiment on automated animation based on a sound input using Cinema 4d and Trapcode form. The fuzzy ball was made in Cinema 4d and the animation was mapped to the sound using Xpresso functions. Hair dynamics were modified to retain the original shape of the fuzzy ball. The background animation with the particles was done with trapcode form, again synced to the music, where different frequencies drive different attributes of the layer.

A cool visualisation test done with trapcode form, perfectly synced to the music.. Different frequencies of the sound trigger different sections of the animation. Music sample taken from ‘I Know the truth’ by Pretty Lights.

A short test with trapcode form, using the audio to control various parameters of the visualisation. Music by pretty lights.

Video made to showcase features of the new Bharti Infratel Enterprise suite. Title animation was done with Cinema 4d, and screenshots were animated and composited in Adobe After Effects. 3D render of the monitor placeholder was provided by the client. Music by Dokashiteru.

Animation made with cinema 4d, using only dynamics. Compositing done with adobe after effects.

A short motion graphic animation made for Bharti Infratel made using adobe photoshop and after effects

an experiment a friend (jerome regef) and i tried… converting photographs to 3d models.. we basically clicked a thousand  pictures of a sculpture we made… uploaded it onto microsoft photosynth..  which generated point clouds for the same.. we exported the pointcloud data and using meshlab/ geomagic.. wrapped the point couds with polygons… and then exported as an obj to retouch on maya…

the practical application of such a procedure is pretty limitless… any complex object can now be made into a 3d model just using photographs, essentially cutting out any need for modelling in maya.

this is just an experiment. if the same sculpture was to be photographed in studio lighting the results would be tremendously different.

space creatures, from outer space…. fun times with trapcode particular and adobe after effects.just experimental test renders.

a quick showreel i made to showcase the work iv done.

A short abstract animation done using maya and adobe aftereffects. The time lapse footage was captured with a canon 7d. I was given an audio track for which i had to visualize and animate a scene in 3d integrated with live action footage. This is what I came up with.

an infographic animation i made with adobe after effects highlighting the advantages of outsourcing to rural areas in india.

commercial project for desicrew, made in less than a month.

‘jonathan’

a short traditional 2d animation done with hand drawings and photoshop and then composited on adobe after effects as part of an intensive one week project.

‘old indian palatial setting’

created with autodesk maya. exercise in composition, modelling, texturing and lighting. rendered with final render.
